An introduction to semi permanent makeup.
My passion in life is to create permanent makeup treatments for eyebrows, eyes, and lips. No one treatment I perform is ever the same and are as individual as each and every one of my clients. Each one of my clients has different facial features, structure, and skin tone, which all influence the treatment in different ways.
I am an artist and will always create a bespoke treatment result to suit the individual. Eyebrow treatments are a perfect example of this; I use a range of techniques from hair strokes to powder effect to create a natural brow to suit the client.
Everyone is different when it comes to the end result. I will always create a natural, flattering look for the clients who desire something very subtle, but others may want a more pronounced look. You will be able to discuss this thoroughly at your consultation.
The moment my clients look in the mirror when I’ve finished their treatment is one of my greatest pleasures in life. Watching their faces light up, I know they feel like a different person.
“You’ve given me back so much confidence,” they say. And that’s the single most important thing to me. It’s what motivates me to achieve the best result for every single person who walks into my treatment room.
Are permanent brows right for me?
Whether you pencil in your brows daily due to years of over-plucking, suffer from hair loss and feel uncomfortable with your appearance, or simply have very fair colouring – whatever your concern, I could make a dramatic change in your life with a brow treatment.
I speak to so many ladies who suffer confidence loss silently as a result of their eyebrows - or lack of them!
Should I bring my brow pencil to my consulation?
Yes, it can be useful to see what colour tones you have been using for your brows.
Do you do hairstrokes or block brows?
I am trained in ultra-realistic permanent cosmetics. For brows, this means natural brow hair can imitated – whether you have any left, or none. Alternatively, if you do want a block brow style that can also be achieved. I will work with you to achieve the perfect brow style for you.
Can I have my brows waxed, then have a brow treatment?
Any waxing should be performed at least 48 hours before the treatment.
Can I have electrolysis on my brows, then have a brow treatment?
You should wait a minimum of five days between having electrolysis and permanent cosmetics for brows.
Do I have to have all my eyebrows shaved off?
No. I prefer you to keep your own brows - don't even tweeze them before you come in as I like to work within your natural shape if possible.
Will you need to remove any of my natural brow hairs?
Angie will work with whatever brow hairs you have. It’s a common myth that brow hairs need to be shaved off for permanent cosmetics treatments. This is not the case at all. The only time brow hairs may need to be removed is if there is any errant growth which needs tidying up, either through tweezing or threading.
Will my brows look very dark after the treatment?
You should be prepared for the colour intensity to be significantly sharper and darker immediately after the treatment. This will subside and become lighter as the skin heals. This process can take up to 10 days.
What is included in the price I pay?
A brow treatment is a three–part process within three appointments. The price you are quoted will include all three stages.
The first part of the process is a consultation. This is done separately from your actual treatment. I will talk with you in great detail about the look you are trying to achieve and what I might recommend to you. This is very much a two-way conversation. I listen, respond and advise. Once I have an idea of the look you are aiming for, I draw the brows on with a makeup pencil. These can be drawn on and adjusted 50 times if necessary! I will never begin the tattoo process until you are completely happy with what they are going to look like.
PERMANENT MAKEUP TREATMENT
Using a specialist facial tattooing machine, which works at a much lower frequency than a standard tattoo machine, pigment is gently applied to the skin using very fine needles. The sensation is that of an electric toothbrush being held against your skin – you feel the vibrations but you should not feel any discomfort. I will always work with you at this stage, giving you breaks if you need them. The process normally takes about 2-3 hours, but it varies from person to person depending on your individual requirements. Immediately after a brow treatment you should expect the area to look 30-50% darker than the colour you have chosen in consultation. This will start to fade after 3-4 days.
A second appointment is needed 4-6weeks after your first treatment. This is usually a 60-90 minutes appointment to add more pigment to the brow area. This is because as the area is healing, some parts may not ‘hold’ as well as others and you may have a few patches that need more colour. This is completely normal and everyone heals differently. Whatever the case, I will advise you always come back to clinic for your retouch.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes. All semi permanent makeup procedures require a £100 deposit in order to secure your booking. Bookings are not confirmed until you have paid your deposit.
What is your cancellation policy?
